Hello, I'm Gemma!

I'm Gemma Aldridge, and I've been obsessed with hair for as long as I can remember.

I spent a few years working as a hairdresser, and those years taught me more than any course could: how different every head of hair is, how a small change can make someone feel like a new person, and how often people just want honest advice without being sold something.

These days I'm a stay-at-home mum and wife, but the hair thing never really went away. I'm still the one friends and family come to before a big haircut, a colour change, or a "what do I do with this fringe" crisis. So I started this blog to share what I know and the styles I genuinely love, in a way that's actually useful. It's also my way of bringing a little extra into the household, which I'm not shy about saying.

What you'll find here are hairstyle ideas, haircut inspiration and colour ideas for all ages, with plenty for women over 50 and 60, because good hair doesn't stop at a certain age. I try the easy styles myself where I can, I'll tell you when something is better left to a salon, and I won't pretend a trend works for everyone when it doesn't.

I'm not a celebrity stylist and I don't have a backstage story to tell. I'm just someone who loves hair, spent a good few years doing it for a living, and still gets excited about a good bob.
